Abstract

Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by joint pain, stiffness, and swelling with typical skin manifestations of psoriasis. Chronic inflammation is a major cause of endothelial dysfunction, and atherosclerosis. In this optic, we conducted a systematic review of the literature to provide the most-up-to date literature regarding the effect of TNF alpha inhibitors on atherosclerosis in psoriatic arthritis patients. This systematic review was registered in prospero: CRD42023451234. We will follow the PRISMA guidelines and the search will be carried out using Pubmed, Scopus, Embase and Cochrane Library from inception until September 3th /2024. The search strategy, literature selection, and data extraction will be conducted independently by two investigator using a pre-piloted data extraction form. potential biases will be assessed using Newcastle Ottawa Scale (NOS) for the cohort and case control studies and the revised Cochrane risk-of-bias tool for randomized trials . Only studies that met high quality will belong to our final selection. The results will be publicly available and published in a peer-reviewed journal.
